About the Two New Arkham Horror: The Dream-Eaters Expansion Packs
On 8th February 2024, Fantasy Flight Games confirmed their penultimate expansion packs for Arkham Horror The Card Game named ‘Dream-Eaters Investigator Expansion’ and ‘The Dream-Eaters Campaign Expansion’.
As the names suggest, the investigator cards will be in the Investigator Expansion, while the scenario cards will come as part of the Campaign Expansion. Although collecting both sets of cards is fun, you can play the game with just one of the expansion packs.
Just note that there are no exclusive cards in these two expansion packs. Therefore, if you already own every previous release from The Dream-Eaters collection, there are no new cards in this collection for you to acquire.
The Dream-Eaters Investigator Expansion
In this expansion pack, you’ll gain five investigator cards that help you navigate the new challenge of this game. Each investigator brings unique strengths and weaknesses to the game, so it’s up to players to choose how to best play to the cards' merits.
For example, you may wish to utilise Tommy Muldoon for his ability to soak up damage. However, you may have to use this rookie cop wisely as he is vulnerable to ‘Rookie Mistakes’, which could set you back in your quest.
The Dream-Eaters Campaign Expansion
The Dream-Eaters campaign set is among our favourites because it contains two campaigns in one:
- The Dream-Quest aims to uncover the truth behind the words of Virgil Gray and sees players navigate through scenes with talking cats, sentient flames and a skilled dreammaker.
- The Web of Dreams campaign sees players through a local hospital set in the waking world as they encounter obstacles such as spider-esque monsters and the same skilled dreammaker, Randolph Carter.
You can play these stories one at a time or as a combined story with even more at stake.
