Next Move Games announces successor to Azul, Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra
Last night, Next Move games announced the successor to their top game of the last year Azul on their website. The new game will have the name Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra and will take some core mechanisms of its predecessor, but it will add new twists and a new theme.

In the strategy game Azul, players compete to create the best mosaic and score the most points by collecting stones from the common pool and making sure that other players don't get the stones they wanted. All stones for the current round are available in the middle of the table in small piles. On a turn, a player can choose one of the piles and take all tiles of a certain color from this pile, the rest of the pile moves to a big pile in the middle. You have to take all the tiles of the color you choose, even if there are too much and these will score you negative points. When all tiles have been divided, the round ends and points are awarded for the new tiles on your mosaic. This goes on for a certain number of rows and after this, a special scoring round occurs.

In the new game, players have completed their mosaics and are now moving on to stained glass windows. Players will have to collect pieces of colored glass in a similar way to the original Azul game where they try to waste as few tiles as possible and try not to break their existing windows while building. The player boards are now variable and there are many to choose from, making for a variable game every time you play this.

Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra will be available for playing and buying at Essen Spiel 2018 in October. More information about the game can be found on the website of Next Move.
