A game that hits the table a lot for my girlfriend and me is Patchwork. This game for two players challenges you to create the nicest fabric out of pieces of cloth that are on the table. On their turn players can take one of the next three pieces in line if they have enough buttons to pay for it. Another factor in this game is time. When you buy bigger pieces, you lose more time and the player that has lost the least amount of time is always the active player until this player catches up.
Sagrada is a dice game that plays with a maximum of four players, but it is an amazing game to play with two players. In the game, each player tries to complete their own stained glass window to score a maximum amount of points at the end of the game. This is done by throwing dice in different colors, every player chooses a dice on their turn and adds it to their window. There are limitations to how the dice are added to your window, so think carefully before adding a dice to your board. Every game has unique scoring rules and when all dice are used up, the player that scores the most points by these rules is the winner.
In our opinion, Ticket to Ride is one of the best family board games. But, the board has too many routes to play with two players. For this reason, Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries is a great variant to play with two players. The board still has the same size, but the amount of routes has been decreased drastically which make sure you constantly cross paths. In the Ticket to Ride games, players try to connect cities using railroads. However, when a railroad is taken, no other player can build there. The goal is to complete all connections you received as goal at the start of the game, so make sure you get your required routes before your partner takes them.
Hopefully, you have found a new amazing game for you and your partner in this list that you really enjoy playing.
