The Pokémon Company releases multiple series and sets of the Pokémon trading card game every year. This month they launched a special series of new cards, The Scarlet & Violet 151 sets are based on the very first 151 Pokémon in the Kanto region. For nostalgic reasons, we had to buy some of these sets and write a short review.
We bought three of these new sets that are linked directly to some of the Pokémon from the Kanto region. These sets are the Zapdos box, the box with the starter Pokémon (Bulbasaur, Charmander en Squirtle), and Alakazam ex box (including Abra en Kadabra).
Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet: 151 Collection - Alakazam ex
This set is based on the most popular psychic Pokémon of this generation: Alakazam. Every set contains the same unique cards depicting Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam ex.
Additionally, the box contains four 151 booster packs.
Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet - 151 Poster Collection
This collection depicts the three starter Pokémon based on the very first Pokémon games: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Each box contains the same unique card for each of these Pokémon.
The box also contains a double-sided poster with all the first 151 Pokémon on it. One side has them depicted by an abstract image, the other contains illustrations from other trading cards for these Pokémon.
Additionally, the box contains three 151 booster packs.
Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet - 151 Zapdos ex Collection
The last box contains electric Pokémon. Each box has the same unique Zapdos cards as well as the same card in a giant form factor. We also find a special card for Electabuzz. Additionally, the box contains four more 151 booster packs.
