Best board games to play during the holidays

The time is finally here again! December has started, so the holidays are moving closer very fast and that makes it the time to surprise family and friends with nice gifts under the Christmas tree. We have already made a list of the board -and card games that should fit very nicely under the tree this year.

Our first recommendation is a game that has been released the year, [Codenames: Duet](https://www.tabletopfinder.eu/fr/boardgame/6179/codenames-duo). [Codenames](https://www.tabletopfinder.eu/fr/boardgame/29/codenames) is a game in which two teams race to be the first to find all their secret agents in a crowd. The team leader of each team gives clues to which card contains one of the secret agents of this team, but he has to make sure that the other team doesn't find this agent before you do! So cryptic clues are advised!
[Codenames: Duet](https://www.tabletopfinder.eu/fr/boardgame/6179/codenames-duo) is a new version of this game for two players in which you play as a team against the clock. A very fun game for stress-resistant couples that like a fun and quick game.

The next game is one that has a little bit more rules, but is still a really fun game to play with families, [Clank!](https://www.tabletopfinder.eu/fr/boardgame/1221/clank). In the game Clank!, all of you are adventurers that depart on a quest to steal the artifacts of the dragon. Each player has a deck of cards that allows them to move through the dragons dungeon and steal treasures. More, and better, cards can be bought from the market. But beware of the dragon because it has heard you and will try to attack everyone in the dungeon. If you can't leave the dungeon in time or didn't get an artifact, you won't be able to win this challenge!

Our third recommendation is a classic that keeps returning every year, [Carcassonne](https://www.tabletopfinder.eu/fr/boardgame/17/carcassonne). In this game, all players work on creating the region of Carcassonne by adding meadows, roads and castles using tiles. Players can claim the buildings on these tiles and score points when they are completed. But don't make your castles too big, because other players might try to enter and take some of your hard-earned points.
Because this game has been out for several years now, there are also a lot of expansions available that make the game even more fun and add new twists to score more points and annoy the other players.

A board game we would recommend is one that can also be played with a younger audience. [Kingdomino](https://www.tabletopfinder.eu/fr/boardgame/2675/kingdomino) is a game in which each player builds his own kingdom using tiles based on dominoes. All tiles in the game have two sides with possibly two different terrains on them. Each round players take turns taking one of the tiles available and place them in their kingdom. At least one of the terrains has to match an adjacent terrain that is already in the player's kingdom. At the end of the game, when all tiles are divided, points are received based on how big regions of a certain terrain are. The player with the most points wins the game!

These are some of the games we would recommend to play with friends and family during the holidays. Of course, there are many more fun games that can make it to the table this season, but there were just too much to list! Have fun playing games and happy holidays!
