Our Kickstarter picks for October 2017

It has been a while since we took a look at Kickstarter to see if there are any new and promising board games to support. We have done some thorough searching through all current listings on Kickstarter to give you a summary of the board games that look so good that we will probably be backing them this month.

Kickstarter is a website where designers can post there project they would really like to create and show to the world. To do so, they can ask financial support from the other users on Kickstarter. In exchange for this, the users will most commonly receive a completed product when it is ready and possible some nice extra's that are only available through this campaign. This way, anyone can help to make sure this project will see the light of day. Board games take up a big part of all projects on Kickstarter, and these are the ones that caught our eyes this month.

The first game that we saw is Guardian's Call, a party game where you have to be very good at bluffing and deceiving other people. In the game, players have to complete sets of different cards to score the most points. Every turn, the current player can offer some cards out of his hand face down to any other player. The current player has to tell this player what cards he is offering them exactly. But beware! This could possibly be a lie. The player that is offered these cards has to decide if this offer is legit or not. If he is right, the offered player can add the cards to his playing area, otherwise, the current player has been successful and add the cards to his own playing area.

The game also contains a lot of twists that can occur at random moments while playing. These range from quests to special events that can either be good or bad depending on what cards you currently have in your playing area. Be sure to take a look at the Kickstarter page for this game for more information.

Another game that caught our attention is the newest version of Tiny Epic Defenders. This second edition of the game challenges people yet again to defend Aughmoore from the evil and darkness that is threatening it. It contains a completely redone artwork and new components such as the ITEMeeples® that were introduced with Tiny Epic Quest.

Besides this new edition, this Kickstarter also contains the long-awaited expansion, Tiny Epic Defenders: The Dark War. The Dark War adds a campaign where you play through a story with new characters, stronger enemies and new 3D components that will bring the game to live more than before.

More information and the possibility to get this game as soon as possible can be found on their Kickstarter page.

A third game that we are very interested in this month is Dice Hospital. Dice hospital is, as the name implies, a dice game where these dice represent patients that you have to treat at your hospital before they get worse. This can be done by building new departments in your hospital that can cure these patients and hire specialists that can work in these departments. The more patients you can cure in a round, the more points you can earn!

Is this a theme you like or are you a fan of dice games? Then be sure to take a look at the Kickstarter page.
