Wizards of the Coast announces Betrayal Legacy

Wizards of the Coast and Rob Daviau announced Betrayal Legacy together this weekend at PAX Unplugged, A new Legacy board game based on Betrayal at House on the Hill. The game will be published by Wizards of the Coast Avalon Hill in the last quarter of 2018

Betrayal at House on the Hill is a cooperative game in which players are exploring a haunted mansion while searching for relics. Room tiles are added to the mansion in a random way every time one of the players goes through a door. This way, the building almost never has the same layout as the last playthrough. But beware! After being in the house one of the players might go mad and betray everyone else. The betrayer will get special powers which the other players do not know of, but the other players know how to destroy the betrayer! The team that now reaches his goal first is the winner of the game.

Some components of the original Betrayal at house on the hill

Rob Daviau is one of the original designers of the game Betrayal at House on the Hill and will be one of the designers for the new game. Daviau already has a lot of experience making Legacy games such as Risk Legacy, Pandemic Legacy and Pandemic Legacy: Season 2, so we are pretty confident that he will make this project into an amazing Legacy experience. The concept of a Legacy board game is that every playthrough has an influence on the next game that you play. This makes you think harder about your actions even beyond the end of the current game. Because if you use all your resources and abilities by the end of the game, you might start the next game with nothing! How the Legacy experience will be implemented in this game is not yet clear.

It will still take about a year before the game will be available in stores, and not much is know about it. When pictures or more information will be available we will try to post it as soon as possible on the website or social media!
