Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun becomes a board game

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is a computer game that has been released for pc in 2016 and later for PS4 and Xbox One as well. This week, the board game publisher Antler Games has announced that the will put up a Kickstarter campaign this year for the board game version of this computer game. Get your shuriken and your katana, because it is time to overthrow the overlord!

The new board game will follow the same gameplay as its digital counterpart. In the game, you control five different characters, each with their own equipment and skills. Your goal is to defeat the warriors and samurai of the overlord while trying to complete the goals of the current mission. The game will consist of different campaigns each spanning over several missions that can influence each other. Decisions taken in one of the previous missions could potentially change the course of the current mission. It is possible that the overlord will have stronger abilities or that special units are available. All units in the game will also have their unique miniature to make the game beautiful.

The board game publisher that will take care of this project is Antler Games. This is a lesser known publisher from Hungary that has made games in the past like Critters Below and Saltlands, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun will probably be their biggest project yet. The Kickstarter campaign for this game has been announced to start in the third quarter of this year. The only information we are getting for now is some previews of the miniatures and a teaser video for the board game.
