Fantasy Flight Games announces Twilight Imperium 4

It has been twenty years since Fantasy Flight Games released their first version of the worldwide favorite space game, Twilight Imperium. In the years 2000 and 2005, this game has received a new upgrade that came with optimizations and component upgrades. This year, FFG brings the newest, fourth version to the table.

Twilight Imperium is probably the best known 4X game (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, en eXterminate) since it has been released in 1997. In this game, you take the role of the leader of one of the ten races in the universe. It's your job to spread as far as possible and complete as many missions as you can because this scores you points that let you win the game. How you accomplish your goals is completely u to you, you can prioritize on exploring, conquering, politics or any other way the game allows you to.

This new version of the game includes 350 plastic units, 51 system tiles, 561 command and control tokens, 80 action cards, 50 agenda cards, 40 objective cards, 59 planet cards, 184 technology, and technology upgrade cards and many more components.

Componens in the new Twilight Imperium Fourth Edition

The more experienced Twilight Imperium players are probably wondering what the big difference is between this version and the previous versions. The biggest change must be the overhaul in the design and art of the components, but still in the same style we are used to in the Twilight Imperium series. Additionally, minimal changes have been made to the mechanics such as Trade, Technology, Units, Space Docks, Politics and more. For a complete overview of all changes, you can take a look at the product page on Fantasy Flights' website.

The fourth edition of Twilight Imperium is almost ready for shipping worldwide and will be available in the fourth quarter of 2017.
