Bézier games makes a sequel to Castles of Mad King Ludwig

This week, the publisher Bézier games announced a sequel to their flagship board game, Castles of Mad King Ludwig. The new game will have the name The Palace of Mad King Ludwig and the same principles as his predecessor. The game is an entirely new game with new components, so it will not be possible to combine with Castles of Mad King Ludwig.

In the game, players work together to try and make the most beautiful palace for the mad king Ludwig. However, players also have their own agenda and try to influence the building process in their advantage, because the player who can collect the most points at the end of the game is the winner. In this new version, a moat is being built around the palace through the course of the game. When the moat has been completed, the game is over.

If we take a look at the back of the box art that has been released, the first thing that catches the eye is that the game will be using square tiles in contrast to the many different forms of rooms you find in Castles of Mad King Ludwig.

It will probably be a while before we will be able to buy the game or even get some more pictures of the components of the game. The first release of the game is planned in October with Spiel 2017 in Essen. For those of you who can't wait to get the game, you can already pre-order the game on the website of Bézier games.
