Ticket to Ride sets sail

This fall Days of Wonder is bringing a special new edition to their well-known Ticket to Ride series. This new game called Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails , will not only feature railroads but will also allow the user to create connections over water using boats. The game will now be played on a map of the entire world where players will connect major cities on all continents. On the other side of the board, we find a map that will connect cities at the great lakes of America.

In this new version apart from railroads, harbors will play a key role in the game. These will make sure you can complete a route to another continent and will earn you extra points at the end of the game. Routes over the ocean can be made using boat cards. These are new cards available next to the train cards, on a turn a player can choose to take either train cards or boat cards, these will be separately available. There are also new tour tickets available. These tickets show a number of cities in a predefined order. If the player can make this tour in this order the ticket will earn the player a lot of points, but beware, these are very hard to complete.

The new gameboard: the entire world

The game Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails will be playable with 2 to 5 players and will take about 90 - 120 minutes to play. In the box, we find 165 trains and 250 boats in five different colors, 15 harbors, 140 train and boat cards, and 120 tickets. The target price for the game will be about €70, wich is slightly more than the previous editions in this series.

More information can be found on the official website of Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails.
